Allegheny Regional Asset District Grants $1.5M to Help Foundations Buy August Wilson Center

The Pittsburgh Tribune Review reports that the Allegheny Regional Asset District board has approved a $1.5 million grant that will “enable a coalition of foundations” to purchase the August Wilson Center.

Called “August Shines,” the event is documented by video, produced by the BBC.

August Wilson Mural Officially Unveiled in Pittsburgh’s Hill District

The August Wilson mural was officially unveiled on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at 2037 Centre Avenue in Pittsburgh’s Hill District.

Coincidently, this site is also that of the demolished jitney station that Wilson used for his play, “Jitney.”
